Restronaut: Social Dinning

Restronaut is one of our Maek Ventures projects – it grew to become one of Dubai’s most talked-about social platforms. Restronaut connects like-minded people over dinner at the city’s restaurants and venues. We call it ‘making social social again’

We created an identity that played on the themes of space, discovery and food – the brand name being a play on ‘astronaut’ and ‘restaurant’, and the imagery followed a similarly fun and playful fashion.

Restronaut has 50 partner venues, and has an engaged community of over 9,000 users. 345 dinners have been hosted and over 3,100 dinner covers have been booked. It’s had some pretty good press, locally and internationally – see here, here and here.

Unfortunately due to not being able to secure funding, the company chose to shut down, and all partners to pursue other opportunities.
